Nursing Compassion Award presented to Jasper Fultz of White County Medical Center

Jasper Fultz, a licensed practical nurse for White County Medical Center’s Emergency Room, has been awarded the 2008 Nursing Compassion Award as “Arkansas’s Most Caring Caregiver.” Nominated by a group of his peers and a number of his patients, Fultz was chosen as the most compassionate among hundreds of entries from across the state.

Jasper Fultz has been a nurse in the Emergency Department at WCMC for over 25 years.

The Compassion Award was instituted by Publishing Concepts, Inc. / ThinkAboutItNursing—who publishes the Arkansas State Board of Nursing’s official magazine ASBN Update—and co-sponsored by Arkansas Farm Bureau as a way for patients and family members to show their appreciation for the care given to them by Arkansas nurses. From the submissions and short essays, a nurse was chosen from each region of the state. Fultz was selected as the winner from among those finalists.

Along with an award trophy, Fultz received a seven-day continuing education Caribbean cruise for two and was featured in an issue of ASBN Update.  At 7:00 p.m. on May 9,  He will serve as honorary captain of the Arkansas Twisters and will sing the National Athem at their game.  Jasper will also throw out the first pitch at the May 10, Arkansas Traveler’s Game.
